PC LAUNCH GUIDE

Phantom Blade Zero PC requirements, storage & Denuvo

The official PC specifications require 16 GB of RAM and an SSD. Budget around 145 GB for the game and at least 300 GB of free space for the preload process. Steam also discloses Denuvo DRM.

This guide explains the developer’s specifications and store disclosures. It is not a PC benchmark, and the performance targets below are not measurements from our own hardware.

Minimum and recommended PC requirements

Match the full configuration, not just the graphics card. These published targets do not establish native-resolution performance or guarantee the same result on every system.

Official specifications: the stated performance targets use upscaling.

Ray tracing and path tracing targets

The corresponding ray-tracing sections specify GPUs and output targets, but do not provide a separate full CPU and RAM configuration. Do not interpret these short tables as a complete independent build specification.

Additional GPU recommendations published by S-GAME. These are separate from the base-game tiers.

Storage requirements: why 145 GB and 300 GB are both listed

The developer’s PC preparation notice gives an approximate game size of 145 GB and asks for at least 300 GB free during preload. The larger number is preparation space, not a statement that the final installed game occupies 300 GB.

Use an SSD and follow the current capacity requirement displayed by your store client. Leave room for the preload process to complete; a later patch or a different platform may use a different amount. These PC figures should not be presented as the PS5 download size.

Does Phantom Blade Zero have Denuvo?

Yes: the Steam store explicitly lists third-party DRM as Denuvo. That is a disclosure for the Steam PC version; it is not evidence that the PS5 version uses the same DRM.

The cited listing does not establish a specific offline grace period, an activation limit or the size of any performance impact. We do not infer those details from the Denuvo label. If offline access is important to you, check current publisher and store guidance before relying on it.

Getting the Steam version ready

  • Check the game in the library of the account that owns it. A purchase made through a key retailer must first be delivered and activated on that account.
  • S-GAME’s Steam announcement schedules preload from October 27 at 02:00 UTC and play from October 29 at 02:00 UTC. Downloading early does not provide early access.
  • Install on an SSD, check available disk space and update your graphics driver, as the developer recommends.
  • Use the release-time guide for your local time. If the launcher does not offer preload, verify the platform and ownership before treating it as an installation failure.

System requirements are not a benchmark

A useful benchmark needs the tested CPU and GPU, resolution, graphics preset, upscaling mode, ray-tracing setting and game build. A headline frame rate without those details is not a reliable comparison.

This page currently supplies official requirements and preparation guidance. It does not claim independently measured frame rates or a tested “best settings” preset. Start with the developer’s specifications and compare later tests that match your hardware and target image quality.

PC requirements FAQ

Can I use an HDD?

The official minimum and recommended specifications both require an SSD. An HDD is outside that stated storage requirement.

Are the published FPS targets for native resolution?

No. The cited minimum, recommended and ray-tracing targets explicitly say that upscaling is enabled.

Do I need a ray-tracing GPU just to play?

The base minimum GPU tier is separate from the ray-tracing recommendations. Use the base tier when comparing basic requirements and the appropriate higher tier when choosing those effects.

Does Denuvo prove the game will run badly?

No. The DRM disclosure alone does not measure a performance penalty. That would require a suitable controlled comparison.

Is the 300 GB space requirement permanent?

The developer asks for that free space for the preload process. Its notice separately describes the game as approximately 145 GB. Check what your client requires at installation and update time.
